School of Soft Goods: Caring for Outdoor cushions and pillows

We are thrilled to now offer all Wheaton Whaley Exclusive patterns on performance outdoor compatible ground.  Get those outdoor cushions and pillows "decked" out in any Wheaton Whaley pattern for a gorgeous outdoor living space.  We can make outdoor furniture cushions exact to your furniture specifications.  We can add custom details like contrast welt or piping, creating a higher end option than the big box generic cushions provide.  We make shopping easy by preparing pre-designed collections, making the finished look cohesive and beautiful.

This specific fabric ground gives a higher durability and colorfastness than our other grounds, meaning it can handle sunlight longer than the other grounds and is more durable overall. 

Ink absorbs and adheres to different types of fabrics differently.  Sometimes a different process is used to transfer the print/ink to the ground.  Some grounds are more absorbent inherently.  All of the innate properties of various ground fabrics change how the same print or very same color/dye may appear once adhered or absorbed. 

For example, our outdoor ground shows the colors more vibrantly than the Linen blend, or the cotton sateen ground we use.  While it is more durable, we still suggest storing your outdoor pillows when not in use to prolong vibrancy.  Keeping them in airtight bins away from sunlight will extend their lifetime.   When cleaning, its' best to use soap and water (test out dawn power wash in a corner on the back of the pillow, before fully committing).  Pressure washing may tear the fibers causing holes, or reducing the life of the pillow. Bleaches are harsh and will also break down fibers. 

We do offer outdoor inserts for the cushions and pillows as well.
